Top 10 Cowards in the History of World Posted: 31 May 2013 01:39 AM PDT As rightly said that "Cowards dare others to do what they themselves do not dare to do." We all know that everybody is not courageous or they don't perform according to their gut and will power, surprisingly they choose to be on the safer side while making their task easier and not facing any problematic situation. History is full of legendary honorable people who marked impressions with some or the other work they performed. Then there are other kinds who made special place as cowards in the history. Here is the list of those 10 cowards in the history of world who deserve this title than many more. 10. Osama Bin Laden:Everybody remembers him for his role in 9/11 — bloodiest crime of this century. He was a coward because he always asked the uneducated and illiterate people and youth to follow him in accomplishing his missions. He spent his entire life hiding from people after killing the innocent civilians. He was not a man who would live by gun and die by gun rather he was a sneaker. 9. Francesco Schettino:He is another accession to the list of cowards. He was the captain of the Italian cruise ship Costa Concordia which sank and killed almost 32 lives on 13th January 2012. It carried 4252 people from all over the world and was on the first leg of a cruise around the Mediterranean Sea. Francesco abandoned the ship before the passengers on the ship. In his defence he said that he was heading to control the rescue effort while he was in the vessel for his own escapism. Well this was not actually convincing. 8. Anders Bering Breivik:He is the man behind 2011 Norway attacks. He killed around 77 people mostly young children and helpless women. He first bombed government building in Oslo and then he ordered a mass shooting at a camp on the island of Utoyo. And to abscond himself he said that the purpose of the attack was to save Norway and Western Europe from Muslim take over. It was said that during the attack he laughed and tried every effort to save himself from the punishment. 7. Muammar Gaddafi:He was commonly known as Colonel Gaddafi. He was a politician and a political theorist. Muammar Gaddafi was famous for his blatant military customs and the huge contumacious statements. The Lockerbie bombing was his plan and it proved him to be a dastard. With the help of his sources Gaddafi managed to kill around 270 people. He didn’t feel any responsibility for his act and thus took shelter in a drainage pipe and later was killed by his own countrymen. 6. Ted Kennedy:Edward Moore “Ted” Kennedy was the most prominent living member of the Kennedy family for many years. In July 1969 there was a car accident and Ted ran away. Later it was found that there was a passenger too and whose body was identified by the local fishermen. When the police investigated this accident it was concluded that the passenger too could have been saved because it took 4 hours for the passenger to die and if they would have received the call from Ted it was possible to save her. 5. Yiannis Avranas:MTS Oceanos was a French-built and Greek-owned cruise ship. This ship sank off South Africa’s eastern coast on 4th August 1991. Captain Yiannis Avranas was held responsible by the passenger of leaving hundreds of passengers alone with ship’s entertainers to help them to abandon the ship. To his defence he said that “the purpose for him to leave the ship first was to arrange for the rescue and then he would administer it from the helicopter”. He and his officers were found thoughtless and careless in dealing with the disaster. 4. J. Bruce Ismay:We all remember Titanic that sank in the North Atlantic Ocean on 15th April 1912 after it bumped with an iceberg. It caused the death of 1502 people in one of the inordinate natural disasters in modern history. Now this man J. Bruce Ismay abandoned the ship when it sank. He was at that time the managing director of White Star Line that built the Titanic. He left women and children to die on the ship. And later to put a shield on his cowardly act he told that there were no women and children when they left the ship. 3. Jack McCall:John”Jack” McCall was also known as “Crooked Nose Jack” or ” Broken Nose Jack”. He earned himself a title of ‘coward’ in 1876 after shooting famous lawman James “Wild Bill” Hickok in the back. This happened when McCall lost all his money at poker and Hickok offered him money to buy breakfast. Jack was very disgusted and furious by this act of Hickok that he went back to the bar to kill Hickok who was sitting with his back to the door. Jack was later swaggered and was hanged in 1877. 2. Robert Ford:Robert Newton “Bob” Ford was an American outlaw who is best known for murdering his leader, Jesse James in 1882. Jesse James thought he could trust Ford but his decision caused him a death penalty. Ford was enjoying everything in his company but he became greedy and the lust increased for money. He shot James in the back when he was hanging the picture on the wall. He was later called as “Coward Robert Ford” and was murdered in 1892. 1. Judas Iscariot:For Christians, Judas is the ultimate coward, who betrayed his friend. According to the New Testament, he was one of the Twelve Apostles of Jesus Christ. He is famous for his kiss and betraying Jesus in exchange of 30 silver coins to Romans. There are various reasons depicted of his death, some says he committed suicide after realizing the height of his crime and other says he was stoned to death by other disciples.
