8 Creepy Pictures of Heath Ledger’s Joker Diary Posted: 01 Jun 2013 07:00 AM PDT Heath Ledger, who met a tragic death because of the accidental overdose of a prescription drug used a diary to develop ideas for the phenomenal role of The Joker in Christopher Nolan’s movie “The Dark Knight”. He mentioned about this diary in an interview with the Empire in 2007: “I sat around in a hotel room in London for about a month, locked myself away, formed a little diary and experimented with voices — it was important to try to find a somewhat iconic voice and laugh. I ended up landing more in the realm of a psychopath — someone with very little to no conscience towards his acts. He's just an absolute sociopath, a cold-blooded, mass-murdering clown, and Chris [Nolan] has given me free rein. Which is fun, because there are no real boundaries to what The Joker would say or do. Nothing intimidates him, and everything is a big joke.” The revealed video is a part of a documentary titled “Too Young to Die”. In the video Heath’s father Kim Ledger shows a part of the diary. The documentary records the planning that Heath used to develop the character of The Joker. The diary also reveals how troubled his mind was during the preparation. The last words that he wrote in the journal are”Bye Bye” are indeed creepy. He finished the diary before the production of the movie wrapped up. Heath Ledger's father, Kim Ledger, shows the Joker diary.
The images of clowns, jesters and clowns can be seen in the diary. He also pasted the picture of Malcolm Mcdowell from the movie A Clockwork Orange.
He galvanized the upcoming character. That was typical of Heath. He would do that. He liked to dive into his characters, but this time he really took it up a notch – Kim Ledger said while recalling the way Heath used to prepare for movies.
More pictures that he pasted in his journal.
How could he miss the images of The Joker from Batman comics.
The hospital scene is interesting because when he was a kid, his sister Kate liked to dress him up as a nurse. He looked pretty funny like that. He looked pretty funny in the film, too – Kim said.

At the end of shooting, he wrote goodbye on the back of the last page. It was hard to read that – Kim stated while remembering his son.See the video - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j04X3B9-dLU The post 8 Creepy Pictures of Heath Ledger’s Joker Diary appeared first on TopYaps. |
Top 10 Reasons to Salute Oskar Schindler Every Morning Posted: 01 Jun 2013 05:00 AM PDT Oskar Schindler was an ethnic German industrialist, spy and member of the Nazi party. But most importantly he was a hero; a real hero who is credited to having saved the lives of over 1,200 Jews during the Holocaust. Certainly wouldn't have been an easy task considering how volatile the conditions were at that point in time, but he did it nevertheless. He is a man who needs to be remembered for he showed the world that humanity does survive in the worst possible conditions. Let's have a look why you should look up to this man every day and give you top 10 reasons to salute him. 10. Untainted soul inspite of having flaws:He was just like any ordinary person. A man with flaws just as any person in the world would. Schindler lived at the time when thousands of Jews were taken to concentration camps and killed by the Nazis. But he alone saved over 1200 Jews. He walked through the murky lanes of the Holocaust, but emerged with his soul unpolluted. What he did was something that not every person in the world would have been able to do. 9. Risked his own life:He was a regular at Nazi SS elite parties. One could say that although he was one of them, he wasn't actually one of them. It was highly dangerous, what he did at the time when the Nazis were going out all guns blazing on Jews, if it came to be known that a man who was one of their own was shielding them. But Oskar Schindler did it nevertheless because that was perhaps the right thing to do! 8. Gave everything he had to protect Jews:Schindler was a war profiteer who had made lots of money using his skills of presentation, bribery and grand gestures. But he spent all his wealth to save the Jews. Who would have done that? Not many, for it takes courage, dedication and a soul free from greed. He spent millions and millions to keep Jews safe. The sad part is that he died penniless but his sacrifice did not go unnoticed. 7. Used the status of his company to protect Jews:Oskar Schindler used the status of his company to protect the Jews that worked for him. He called them Schindlerjuden which means Schindler’s Jews. He used his connections with the German government to emphasize that to ensure the functioning of his company he needed the Jews. Since his factory was a business essential to the war effort, he was able to save many. 6. Treated Jewish workers civilly:He not only protected the Jews that worked for him but treated them with respect, too. It was at a time when Jews were at the receiving end and life had become a hellish ride for them. But Jewish workers at Schindler's factory were treated properly. They were not beaten and abused as in the other factories. It was in contrast to what was happening to the Jews in the Płaszów camp just around the corner from the factory. 5. Allowed Jews their religious practices:It was a time of chaos where surviving was the priority and at the same time extremely unlikely. But Schindler’s Jews were luckier than the others. He let them gather for Shalosh Seudos and sing zemirot at the close of Shabbat. They would even say words of Torah and stories of tzaddikim. Only a man with shimmering humanity could have been able to do that in that period. 4. Moved his factory to Brünnlit:When Schindler was alerted that his enamelware facility would be closed and all the workers would be moved to the neighboring concentration camps, he persuaded the officials to let him move his workers to Brünnlitz. He argued that he would be producing hand grenades and parts for V-2 rockets in the new factory with the help of his workers. A risky proposition but he succeeded in doing it and saved the lives of his workers. 3. Sabotaged weapons:The facility that Oskar Schindler set up in another former Jewish factory in Brünnlitz was supposed to produce weapons to be used by the Germans. Hand grenades and parts for V-2 rockets were specifically to be produced. It is not clear how much was produced and how much was used by the German army. But it is said that Schindler made his men sabotage the output. That again was a brave thing to do. 2. Helped Jews with disability too:He was perhaps one of those few men who dared fight the sadism around him intelligently. Whenever there was a threat to his workers he would show them as essential to the factory's functioning. But what is essential to note here is that he even saved persons with disability showing the government officials that they were necessary mechanics and metalworkers. 1. Helped Jews irrespective of cost:When he set up a facility in Brünnlitz, Oskar Schindler spent all the money he had to ensure the best food, clothing, shelter and medical care was given to the Jews. He spent as much as he could, all his wealth. It was as if he was taking care of his own children. But perhaps that was true as his wish was to be buried in Jerusalem where he is known to have said that his children lived. Moreover it leads to health situations such as insomnia, body pains and lack of energy. In the modern era depression appears to spread like a epidemic. Loss of hope makes your daily life worse and you feel that you start feeling that nothing can be done to make yourself cope up with the situation. But that is not the end of the road and you need to follow some right steps in order the beat the demon of depression. All you need is to stay focused and build a path towards a joyous life. 10. Share your feelings with trusted peopleYou must stop keeping your issues with yourself and start sharing them with people who love and trust. Keeping yourself isolated from the rest of the world is not right and will further deteriorate your condition. Understanding the fact that if you are secretive about your issues then it will be next to impossible for your friends or family members to get you out of the dilemma. No fight can be won easily and in the case of depression the fight that you will be fighting is with yourself. So in order to find your path towards the joyous life talk about your problems with others as frankly as you can and they just might help you to overcome the situation. 9. Remove the idea of being perfect from your mindAiming for extremely high standards in order to attain the tag of a “perfectionist” might be the biggest reason why you stay dissatisfied with most of the things in life. You must accept the reality and strategically plan your way up the ladder. Success and liabilities go hand in hand. The constant urge of reaching the top makes you forget that nothing comes handy in life. In order to stay happy you must stop setting up imaginary self standards by diminishing your negative way of thinking. Keeping yourself busy is the best way of keeping negative thoughts out of your mind. Re-analyse your ambitions and priorities in life so that they fit the realistic scenario better. 8. Stop socializing with negative peopleAll of us have a few people in our social circle who spread negativity in all possible aspects. Sometimes it’s hard to avoid them but it must be understood that perhaps their negative ideas are infiltrating our brain and making us lose our path. In such a situation the best way is to avoid such people at all costs and start being around with people who reflect positive vibes. Being optimistic is essential as it keeps our minds on track in the events of difficulty. If the negative ideas stay persistently in your mind then it becomes extremely hard to react appropriately in life changing situations. 7. Stop negative behaviorMany depressed people lose control in their life and they occupy themselves with wrong things such as drinking excess alcohol, spending excessive money, play around with others feelings, drug abuse, etc. Doing such things make you drown yourself even further into the pool of negativity. Justifying your bad behavior with a illogical reasons makes you lose respect in front of others. Every time you get troubled thoughts in your mind try focusing on a fruitful activity rather than wasting your time and energy. 6. Take care of your bodyOne of the best way of keeping your stress level in check is by practicing a relaxation technique.Try inculcating yoga, muscle relaxation, deep breathing or meditation in your daily routine. Try adding a few things in your routine so that your body stays active. You can stop wasting your time in doing self destructive activities and join a nearby gym. It is medically proven that exercising releases a anti depressant chemical in your brain and you start feeling good naturally. Another key factor that should not be overlooked is the importance of a good sleep. Compromising with your sleep aggravates negative thoughts. Waking up dull and fatigued is among’st the most common complaint during depression. 5. Dietary changesOur diet has a direct impact on the way we feel. Getting a well balanced diet is a major step in dealing with depression. Eat healthy foods with balanced amounts of protein, fruits, vegetables and complex carbohydrates. Also ensure that you don’t skip meals as it makes you tired and irritable. Ensure a good amount of calcium, omega 3 fatty acids and B vitamins in your diet and cut out sugar and refined carbohydrates at all costs. Eating healthy keeps you occupied with constructive thoughts and energy so that the fight with depression becomes easier. 4. Dress up smartlyDressing up confidently gives you the required boost to pull off a major challenge. The phrase “look good feel good” is not limited only to beauty campaigns. Our impression is defined by the way we look. So in order to gain respect in front of others and most importantly your own self carrying yourself smartly is essential. Being depressed makes us lose interest in self care. Taking some time out for grooming is not hard. Notice the fact that all happy faces that you see in your day to day life carry themselves with utmost confidence. And most importantly happy people stay graceful by not allowing sadness or sufferings to affect their own living standards and ideology. 3. Keep yourself occupied with things you love to doPerhaps your hectic schedule didn’t allow you to focus on your interests and activities. Such activities will give you the zeal and suppress depressing thoughts. Cultivating such activities proves to be one of the major factor to enhance mental health, happiness and most importantly self-esteem. There are many types of things in which you can engage yourself like household chores, creating something out of your hands, cooking, gardening, gaming or enrolling yourself with any other activity that you wanted to try for a long time. The main causes of depression are all psychological so in order to keep your mind off those worrying thoughts you have to make yourself mentally strong and the best way to do that is to make efforts and do things that you are really interested in. 2. Help othersMost of the depressing thoughts that we have tend to turn inwards i.e. we curse ourselves for our mistakes repeatedly. To come out of the dilemma our best resort might be to do something for others. You can help people in many different ways like giving charity, lending money, discussing a problem and so on. This will give you a good feeling about yourself. You must understand that troubling your own self is completely unnecessary and same time can be invested in something contributive and effectual. 1. Create your own strategyYou must try to understand the evil thoughts that come across your mind. Start researching solutions, strategize and come up with your own plan to treat your condition. Depression is a condition when you turn lethargic and everything you think of appears way too hard. So getting rid of such a troublesome feeling cannot be done with a single step and you need to make gradual changes to your day to day routine and thought process. Do not set any high standards, never allow your problems to go unanswered, stop being harsh on yourself and most importantly do not let go of things that you think that you cannot control. Giving up and allowing your problems to continue will make you land in despair. Keep your mind open to all possible solutions and regularly analyse your progress. Accept the reality and understand that the longer you delay your treatment you are degrading your value as a person and beating your own self. The journey to wellness is a matter of few planned steps and while you can’t force yourself to experience pleasure but you can definitely control your life.
