7 Folks In Movie Industry Who Never Went To College

Posted: 30 Nov 2013 12:56 AM PST

probably because they were too smart for college. There are people who advocate that a college degree is really important, while there are some brilliant few who consider it just another piece of paper. Something similar is the case in the movie industry. While there are stars that are highly educated, there are a few celebrities who have put education on the back seat and have chased their acting dream into reality. With the desire and passion to make it big in the movie industry, some stars managed to shine without having made it to their graduation day. Let us head down to have a look at the few amazing actors who didn't attend college, but went on to become the hottest celebrities in the Bollywood and Hollywood.

7. Aamir Khan:

We know him as the Mr. Perfectionist in the Bollywood. Being the perfectionist that he is in public appearances and movies, we can guess that he must be well educated. Sadly though, Aamir was a weak student right from school. Right from his childhood the actor always had sports and dramatics as his first priorities. He never liked studying and every fiber of his body screamed of acting. The result was that Aamir never went to college, but became the superstar that we know.

6. Salman Khan:

The 47 year old Salman Khan is the most eligible bachelor in Bollywood. But to everyone's surprise, the superstar doesn't have a bachelor's degree to show. Having studied at the prestigious Scindia School in Gawlior and later at the Stanislaus High School in Bandra, Mumbai, Sallu bhai did go to college, he unfortunately never made it to the graduation day, but became the star like none other in Bollywood.

5. Clint Eastwood:

Clint Eastwood had a pretty nomadic life during his childhood years, since his parents moved a lot. He was forced to study in various schools and perhaps a reason he never liked studying. Eastwood's acting career began at high school, where he acted for the first time, and swore never to do it again. Later however, with disinterest in studies, Eastwood got into acting and rest is history.

4. Tom Hanks:

There is hardly anyone I have known who is unfamiliar with Tom Hanks' acting abilities. He is by far the best actor we know and there are many actors out there who want to be like Forest Gump. But one thing that not all them want to do, but Hanks did, is drop out of school. Hanks did attend California State University, but dropped out soon after to intern for a career in theater.

3. Harrison Ford:

There is no answer to the question how awesome Harrison Ford is at dancing? But there is an answer to when he first felt a liking for acting. It was in one of the drama classes in college that Ford realized he was made for acting. What happened next is no surprise, Harrison Ford dropped out and went on to become the number one in Empire's "The Top 100 Movie Stars of All Time" list in 1997.

7 Folks In Movie Industry Who Never Went To College

2. Johnny Depp:

Captain Jack Sparrow is as awesome as an actor can get. But when it comes to his education, Johnny Depp dropped out of school to become a rock musician. Yes, right a rock musician. At age 13 Depp was playing guitar in a band called The Flame. He dropped out of school to focus on music, but soon realized the whole thing was actually stupid for him. He then joined a film academy, which too he dropped out off very shortly, to focus on acting. Yes! And what happened next is for everyone to see.

7 Folks In Movie Industry Who Never Went To College

1. Leonardo DiCaprio:

You may remember him for his role in the Titanic, but for me the young Leonardo has never been better than he was in the Basketball Diaries. Women have fallen for the dreamy eyed boy every since he appeared on screen; however there are some things that we know little about him. Leonardo Di Caprio considered himself too cool for high school (pun intended) so he dropped out before getting there. Though, details on when are scanty. He is then reported to have joined a local drama center, where he staged his first plays and learnt how to act.

5 Ways To Enjoy In Isolation

Posted: 29 Nov 2013 11:00 PM PST

The leap technological progress has taken in past few decades has left the personal space of every person violated. Mobile phones have allowed people to reach you in everyplace, even in odd hours. We cannot imagine enjoying our life without having either internet, phone or some technologically developed device taking part in our activities.  Some people have the tendency to feel lonely and isolated even when they are surrounded by people. Though man is a social animal, isolation would be a blessing in today's busy and hectic scenario. Wonder if you are isolated from your social group for a period, how you would love to spend the time you have all for yourself? Enjoying in isolation does not come naturally for everyone, because we need someone to share our happiness with, though it is not impossible. Here are 5 ways in which every person can make best of and enjoy in isolation without any interference from others.

5. Everyone has a story to tell:

Everyone has a story to tell, it could either be their own life story or a story they have cooked up in their mind. Remember the time when you had those words flowing in your mind in perfect rhythm before someone or something distracted you? Being in isolation is the best time to put down that story you have inside you in black and white. Allow yourself to surf freely in your thoughts and imagination without any disturbance blowing your entire story away. Grab the opportunity to give birth to the story teller in you.  If you are interested, this would be the best time to set up a blog.

5 Ways To Enjoy In Isolation

4. Set the child in you free:

How many times have you stopped yourself from doing something that you utterly enjoy, just because you were worried about what others might say? Being in isolation is the right time to let the child in you surface once again and enjoy freely. Sing, dance, play or do whatever you feel like doing without giving it a second thought. You will be surprised to see how much of stress you will have relieved after letting yourself go freely.

5 Ways To Enjoy In Isolation

3. Dust off the books:

Nothing can beat the satisfaction of reading your favorite books in the quite, serene atmosphere, with no one to disturb you. If you love books, then this is the best time to enjoy them. If you are not a book lover, then this is the perfect time to try reading them. If you have lots of time on hand, pick up a theme or author you can complete at one go.

5 Ways To Enjoy In Isolation

2. Pick up activities you love:

Apart from the computer or video games, there are hundreds of other games you can enjoy all alone, including the puzzles and challenges. You can try your hand at drawing or painting without any target to achieve. Word games can increase your knowledge and vocabulary while keeping you entertained. Try solitary board games that require deduction, which cannot be done when you have company. Being alone is the best time to practice card or magic tricks. Trying out new recipes is not only fun but you may end up perfecting something to its best.

5 Ways To Enjoy In Isolation

1. Enjoy the outdoors:

Be it gardening, exercising, hiking, swimming, cycling or building castles on the beach; make your pick from thousands of activities you can do in isolation. Keep your eyes and ears open to catch glimpse of that rare bird, bright insect or a beautiful bird song you may come across. In your busy life when you are in company of others, you did not have time to notice the beauty of nature. The alone time will give you an opportunity to connect with nature and be one with it.
