Top 10 Ways Companies Fool Their Customers

Posted: 26 Aug 2013 05:00 AM PDT

In the competitive world, companies adopt various tools to stay in business. Competition between businesses or companies consists of trying to attract the customer to buy their product instead of one produced by the other competitor. In order to capitalize more and more market, companies start giving false advertisements of their products and thus fooling their customers. As advertising has the possibility to influence people into commercial transactions, they fall prey to misleading advertisements. As we all know false advertising is illegal in many countries, but still advertisers finds way to deceive customers in ways that are legal, or legitimately illegal but you cannot approach to court to enforce it. Companies just claim that their product is cheap, superior to others, offers attractive gifts and discounts and people easily get victims to those misleading advertisements. How companies fool their customers in order to dominate the market, might appear a baffling question for lot of people. But we are here with straight explanations. Read on!

10. Rewards and gift packages:

There are different ways to motivate customers with rewards incentives. Many companies will give you gifts, membership cards, certificates for buying their products; others will offer you an actual cash reward or gold coins, while others may provide holiday packages. Some travel companies are fooling their consumers into paying big money for their holiday without providing them the service they promised before. Specialized deal websites are another major concern for shoppers online where they offer you "full holiday package" for a certain price without including flights in it. Many companies are cashing their accounts through these fall practices.

Rewards and gift packages

9. Sale and discount:

In many cases, shopkeepers hire merchandiser from a closing store to sell the products left in their shops. All they actually do is they raise the prices on items that were already tagged. For products already marked down, shopkeepers increase the price and then give you “50% discounts” or more than that. Customer thinks that they are getting the product at half the rate printed on the price tag. Another example where companies fool their customers is when they go for “buy one, get one free” sale. The second item is not absolutely “free” under the any condition, since, to get it, the buyer needs to pay the full price of the first item.

Sale and discount

8. Companies have gone to court for the right to lie:

We all assume that every ad has some hidden facts but the basic facts need to be the same. For example, when Coca-Cola claimed that their drink is"Vitamin water" by promising the drink would “boost your immune system” and “help fight free radicals,” someone made the remark that the drink is sugar water. Coke responded that they were completely shocked to hear that anyone thought their drink was healthy. Recently Apple was advertising their iPhone 3G as, “Twice as fast. Half the price.”  You will think there is nothing better than this, but then when someone points out that there is nothing true about the statement; Apple’s legal defense was the same as Coke’s: “No reasonable person could think like that or they might have misunderstood the statement".

Companies have gone to court for the right to lie

7. Products are still claiming health benefits:

You must have seen the advertisement claiming that chewing gum makes your teeth glow like a fluorescent light. No, they don't really whiten teeth. All they really do is whiten your molars, and do nothing to the teeth that actually show when you smile. Coca Cola claims their drink as a healthy drink, but recent studies have shown that cold drinks have adverse affect on human health. Companies claiming their tea as a tool to reduce stress and lose weight are just fooling around with no actual proofs.

Products are still claiming health benefits

6. Misleading illustrations:

When you visit restaurants or hotel to have your meal, you get tempted seeing the pictures posted on their menu. You get excited by their large size and thinks that they are offering you a larger quantity at a reasonable price, but then the picture gets cleared when they will serve the food and you will feel cheated by them after seeing the small size of the food. Another example is advertised images of burgers, which promise you to be bigger in size than they really are. Many a times, every ingredient which is visible from the side being pictured in the advertisement, while in reality they would be much less available. Products which are sold in spare or unassembled may depict a picture of the finished product, without showing a real picture of what the customer is actually buying.

Misleading illustrations

5. Guarantee or warranty:

Many customers get confused between guarantee and warranty provided by the company on their product. If a company does not promise you what they will do if the product doesn’t meet your expectations, then they really don't care. You will complain that the product is not working well or some of its part have been broken and wants its replacement. Company will tell you that the part you want to be replaced or repaired doesn’t come under either guarantee or warranty or will start giving excuses that you didn’t handle the product well or may be you have tempered it.

Guarantee or warranty

4. No risk:

Companies always claim there is no risk in trying their product, when certainly there is. For example, they may often charge yours credit card for the product, assuring you a full refund if there is any risk. However, the risks of such products are many. Customers sometimes may not get the product at all, they may be charged for things they didn’t order and they may need to call the company to return the product, but are unable to do so. They claim that there are no side effects in their product and when customer faces such problems they refuse to accept it by giving some false excuses.

No risk

3. Incomplete comparison:

These days companies are fooling their customers by making incomplete comparison between the products. They often use “Better” term for their product which means one is superior to another in some way and also “best” which means it is superior to all others in many ways. However, advertisers often fail to tell the way in which they are being compared, whether in quality, price, size etc. So, without telling how they are taking the terms “better” or “best”, these terms have no meaning at all. An ad which claims “Our cold moisturizer is better” is just promising to be improvement over the other product in the market without telling the way in which their product is better.

Incomplete comparison

2. Manipulation of terms:

Many terms do have some meanings but their literal meaning is not defined, leading to their misuse. For example company manipulates organic food as light food. Organic food means to be low in calories, carbohydrates, sugar etc. The difference arise when companies manipulates "Organic" as “Natural” which has no legal meaning when taking food products. Many a times you will find labels such as “All-Natural”, but they have no meaning. Tobacco companies, is using terms like “regular”, “light”, “ultra-light”, “mild” or “menthols” in order to define that products with such labels had less adverse effects on human health, but in recent years many surveys taken by various agencies proved these terms as misleading.

Manipulation of terms

1. Hidden fees and charges:

Whenever you go to market to buy any item you find that the cost of the product is higher than the advertised price. It is so because service providers often charges fees and the surcharges that are hidden to the customers in the advertised price, though in few cases they are so unanimous that they are not displayed. When booking air tickets online you will find some additional charges when going through the payment procedure. In the case of buying automobiles, there are hidden charges like road tax, insurance, registration fees, and additional charges on accessories that are needed to bring the vehicle on the road. For delivered items, they charges additional shipping and handling fees to maximize their profit margin.

Top 10 Jobs Which Can Make You Filthy Rich Like Mark Zuckerberg

Posted: 26 Aug 2013 03:54 AM PDT

Suddenly Zuckerberg has become the poster child of filthy rich in the world today and yet he still does not figure in the top 20 richest persons in the world. But everyone aspires to become him. So what makes him the pin up for prosperity? Maybe it's not the end but the way he made his riches. It is this thought that inspired me to pen this article. Let us try and explore what are the jobs that we can think of as individuals to make our first billion (because million is so last decade!).

10. Blogging:

If you are reading this then probably I just pocketed a five dollar bill. Writing for the internet is today a very lucrative mode of earning. It is estimated that Michael Arrington founder and former co-editor of TechCrunch makes just about $200,000 a month, that's roughly 2.4 million a year. Another guy Pete Cashmore reportedly makes about $180,000 a month with his mashable.com and the list goes on and on. So once you've made your first million with the right kind of investments that magic number of a billion starts looking real. Time to first Billion: Just by blogging probably 300 years… but if you manage your money well (by investing it right) then I'd say about 150 years.

Blogging

9. Modeling:

The profession of modeling if not the most rewarding is definitely the most glamorous of all the jobs. The highest paid model that I have come across is also the one I used to drool over at the Victoria's Secret show every year—Gisele Bundchen with an estimated NW of about $290 million. Overall however it is argued that Kathy Ireland has a net worth of about $350 million although a lot of it came from her own clothing line. Time to first Billion: 2 years, and probably the shortest in this list cause even if you've just made your first million the rest 999 million will be provided by your super rich husband!

Modeling

8. Athlete:

We all idolize our favorite sports star. Although their performances in the game are a source of inspiration for all of us, that's why probably are more than keen to use the soap they ask us to use, the drink they want us to drink or the car they want us to drive. It is estimated that Tiger Woods alone has a net worth of 600 million with about $65 million just coming by way of endorsements every year. In fact this guy already made a billion if we consider the taxes he's paid to the government. Roger Federer who roughly makes the same amount as endorsements is estimated to be around NW $150 million. Other big names are Michael Jordan (just about $650 million NW) and Michael Schumacher ($400 million NW). Golf, American Football, Baseball, Soccer and Basketball are the biggies. Time to first Billion: Give or take 10 years if you are at your best performances and have picked the right sport.

Athlete

7. Movie Star:

Well, being a movie star has its own perks — the fame, the fans, and the freedom of creative expression. Then of course there's the money. Actors make money and they spend money to make some more. Liz Taylor, Jack Nicholson, Tom Hanks, Mel Gibson and Clint Eastwood top the list for Hollywood. Liz is estimated to be around 600 million NW, while Gibson and Nicholson are roughly 400 million USD each.  Beyond Hollywood Shah Rukh Khan from the Indian film Industry (Bollywood) is also right up there with a whopping 600 Million USD. Other include French Gerard Depardieu ($200 million) and yet another Indian actor Salman Khan ($ 200 million). Time to first Billion: Roughly a career span of 30 years if you are willing to do the role of son, lover and the father in movies.

Movie Star

6. TV Anchorman:

We may call it the idiot box but nevertheless stay glued to it for good. I mean who doesn’t like to watch the not-so-talented guy next door being humiliated by Simon Cowell or our favorite movie star being verbally brandished by David Letterman. If you are emotionally hung up then all you need is a dose of Oprah. If you are the right mix of personality for hosting the next big reality show you are on your way towards your first billion. Oprah alone commands a NW of 2.9 billion USD, making her probably the richest African-American celebrity in the World. Ironically her very own protégé Dr. Phil McGraw has a whopping NW of 200 million USD.  Cowell is estimated around $320 million NW. So start practicing in front of the mirror and if you are funny naturally you already have a step up. Time to first Billion: Roughly 8 years, if you can keep reinventing yourself, with a multi-faceted approach or if you are simply Oprah!

TV Anchorman

5. Inventors:

Frankly you just need to be an inventor, doesn’t matter what you invent. If you get the patent that's worth the squeeze, you will find investors who will pay you so that they themselves can squeeze the last bit of profit out of it. Google beanie babies, the guy who made it, Ty Warner is worth $4.1 Billion (WTF). If you thought Red Bull tastes disgusting, well Chaleo Yoovidhya and Dietricht Mateschitz won't care because both of them combined is worth $8 billion USD. Mario Polegato made shoes with holes (sounds like it kind of defeats the purpose but apparently it's like an air conditioner which prevents stinks) and that got him a NW of 2.9 billion USD. So put your thinking hats on cause if you can see a light bulb on your head then probably you just thought up your first billion. Time to first Billion: Well it really depends, if the product is right I would say anything from three years to 8.

Inventors

4. Doctor:

Noblest of the noble professions, governed by the oath of Hippocrates, also seems to be quite a cash rich profession these days. Yes doctors were always well off and it was the safest profession to be in (people will fall sick). But is a lifetime of medical studies worth it – well it apparently is, even more if you are Patrick Soon Shiong. The guy completed high school at 16 and got his medical degree at 23 and after that there was no stopping. Estimated at a net worth of $7.3 billion his wealth majorly came from two of his pharma companies he sold in 5.6 billion and 2.9 billion each. And he is not alone. Rhonda Stryker, an orthopedic surgeon estimated 2.5 billion USD NW, made her first billion through manufacture of replacement joints and other such devices. Other billionaire doctors include Phillip Frost (dermatology; NW 2.4 billion USD) and Gary Michelson (Orthopedics, 1.4 billion USD). I guess by now you are already googling for the nearest Pre Med School. Time to first Billion: I'd say let's not put a timeline to such a noble profession, I mean I hardly think anyone is in it for money (pun intended).

Doctor

3. Fashion Gurus:

You definitely pay a price for looking good, and this is obvious from the fact that in the top 20 richest persons list five are from this arena not including Wal Mart. In fact the third richest person in the world is Amancio Ortega (NW $57 billion) owner of Inditex (Zara, Bershka). 9th and 10th on the list are Lillian Bettencourt (L'Oreal) and Bernard Arnold (Louis Vuitton) followed by Stefan Persson(H&M).  So if you are slogging at an internship at Gucci or Prada working for free trying to get experience you know what kind of success you are looking out for. Time to first Billion: A sound reputation and a loyal clientele is key, my take a lifetime for the first billion.. roughly 30 years.

Fashion Gurus

2. Invest to Earn:

Money is like a virus, if you put it in the right environment it will keep multiplying itself. As Warren Buffet says and I quote “You do smart things, you eventually get very rich.” I guess Buffet must have done a lot of smart things because he's the 4th richest  man on the planet today with a whopping 53.5 billion USD to his credit. Carl Icahn( NW $20 billion) and Prince Alwaleed ( NW $20 billion) are a couple of others who have amassed their wealth by investing what they already had. Time to first Billion: If you already don't have your first billion my guess is once again a lifetime( 30-40 years).

Invest to Earn

1. Tech Geek:

This century only looks bright for all the tech geeks of the time. With visionaries like the late Steve jobs and Bill Gates setting the tone, other computer geeks have just learnt the chorus. While Gates who reigned as the richest man on the planet throughout the late nineties and early two thousands, he is still the second richest man on the planet with a NW of 67 billion USD. Not far behind are Larry Ellison of Oracle(NW 43 billion USD) and Larry Paige and Sergei Brin of Google with NW $23 billion each. Come to think of it the very inspiration for this list came from another billionaire techboy Mark Zuckerberg  with a NW 13.3 billion USD. So make up your mind, if sitting hours on end on the computer writing codes is your game then you might just be inching towards your first billion. Considering the Geek you are occasional porn breaks are also on the cards!

Top 10 Sad Songs Of All Time

Posted: 26 Aug 2013 02:48 AM PDT

Music can very easily stir human emotions; it can make you sad or glad. It is only with music that you can become livid, laugh or cry to your contentment. Music gave jovial melodies to dote on when in high spirits and sad songs to accompany us in times when we thought the world was crashing down. The impact of sad songs is in for the long haul, especially if they pair well with all that is going on wrong in our lives. Here are listed 10 sad songs; when you listen to them with all your heart, they will be your true ode to the blues henceforth:

10. “Under The Bridge” by Red Hot (1992):

Anthony Kiedis wrote "Under The Bridge" when nothing seemed to happen right for him. At this point of time in life, he was feeling emotionally emaciated. To add to the chaos, adverse consequences of excess prior drug abuse began to show up at the same time; pressure mounted and left him helpless. The song reflects the pain loneliness can bring into one's life. Kiedis always regretted how he rejected love in life and wasted time doing nothing. Although Kiedis' hit creation couldn’t fetch him back what he had lost earlier in life, yet it keeps him alive in the memory of his audiences around the world.

9. “Angels” by Robbie Williams (1997):

The song was written by Ray Heffernan and Robbie Williams. Though Heffernan wrote this song (as he told) for his deceased baby son, yet he remained uncredited. The credit was given to Robbie Williams and Guy Chambers; the song was released as a single in 1997. Later, Angels became the bestseller for Robbie and has been voted the best song of the past 25 years at the BRIT Awards!

8. “With Or Without You” by U2 (1987):

This song is the third track from "The Joshua Tree," a 1987 album by U2, the Irish rock band. The lyrics of the song summarize the struggle Bono did in his life while trying to discharge his responsibilities as a married man, and a musician. He failed to balance his personal & professional life; the song describes it well.

7. “Mad World” by Gary Jules (2001):

''Mad World'' was originally written and performed by Tears for Fears, the British band. Ronald Orzabal wrote the song and bassist Curt Smith sung it. Years later in 2001, composers Michael Andrews and Gary Jules covered the song in a way slower and minimalist style. This was when the song had a blast, making a glorious comeback. Basically, 'Mad World' walks us through an insane world from the eyes of a teenager.

6. “Yesterday” by The Beatles (1965):

Yesterday, solely written by Paul McCartney, is an acoustic guitar ballad expressing the pain of being alone post break-up. The Beatles recorded this song in 1965 for their album 'Help'. Popular with around 2,200 cover versions today, the song is one of the most covered songs in the category of recorded music.

5. “Nothing Compares 2 U” by Sinead O'Connor (1990):

The original song was recorded by Prince in 1985. Initially, 'Nothing Compares to You' went unnoticed for a really long time. Later, Sinead O'Connor covered this song and released her own version. This time, the song was warm-welcomed by a huge audience internationally. The song did hit number 1 position on the Billboard Hot 100 around the world and maintained that position for quite long.

4. “I know It's Over”  by The Smiths (1986):

Morrissey, the lyricist and vocalist for the band The Smiths, gave amazing expression to the feeling of rejection in teenage. With extraordinarily catchy lyrics flows a clear narrative of teen anguish – six whole minutes of distress! No kidding! Morrissey never sounded so amazing before; but this time, his voice best generated the impact of rejection of a lover.

3. “Hurt” by Johnny Cash (2002):

Johnny Cash gave the world a legacy of 'Hurt' just one year before he died in 2003. 'Hurt' was first written by Trent Reznor for The Downward Spiral, an album by 'Nine Inch Nails' in 1994. Cash covered the song in 2002; it became more popular than the original one was. Since Cash died shortly after 'Hurt' was released, the song turned out to be appealing to people as a mix of tragedy and tribute. If nothing, one sure finds Cash's delicate vocals in a rare chemistry with a soft and heartrending guitar close to heart.

2. “Last Kiss” by Pearl Jam (1961):

Wayne Cochran, while writing 'Last kiss,' would have never imagined the song was going to be a big hit in the category of sad songs. Though it is quite interesting to know that it was a dangerous highway (vulnerable to too much of accidents yearly) that inspired him to write this song. It was while living near this highway that he got to witness pain and death so closely; he took some friends along and wrote the song.

1. “Tears in Heaven” by Eric Clapton (1992):

As reckless misery would do it, Conor, Eric Clapton's four year old son, fell from a window of the 53rd floor New York apartment in New York City in 1991 and died. The loss was whopping and shook millions of fans. Clapton and his family were torn apart. The song was written by Eric Clapton and Will Jennings to describe the pain of this heartbreaking tragedy. Tears in Heaven secured song of the year and record of the year titles and won three Grammy Awards. The song hit number 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart in the United States and the world remembers this song as Clapton's masterpiece.

Top 10 Intimidating Statues In The World

Posted: 26 Aug 2013 01:45 AM PDT

Not many would believe that still statues can be intimidating. Contrarily people have reported the simple statue of Liberty, standing there holding the torch upright can be intimidating with her sheer size and message. Many other statues are found quite intimidating, sending the spectators into submissive amazement. Here is the list of 10 most intimidating statues of the world that have been able to shake the nerves of steel.

10. Dwarapala of Plaosan Temple:

The two asuras guarding the Plaosan temple are intimidating enough to keep unwanted visitors away. Their bulky physique, fearsome face, the weapon in their hands and semi kneeling position which makes them look more alert, give them a fiery appearance. Guarding the secluded temple of Plaosan, the serene environment adds to the aura of mystery of the dwarapalakas.

9. Guan Di Icon of Yancheng City:

The 80 meter high, giant, scowling statue of Guan Yu frowns hard on visitors, scaring them out of their wits. People often worship Guan Yu as a warrior or even God, which has given rise to countless statues of the Chinese warrior. But, it was only in 2010; with contemporary technical advancement in engineering, was a befitting statue created in his honor. The body standing at the height of 61 meters, holding weapon in one hand and beard in another is made of pure copper.

8. Swords in Mountain:

Though not statues, the figures of three huge bronze swords piercing the heart of earth, buried in solid rock, is a sight to behold in Hafrsfjord near the city of Stavanger in Norway. The monument of Sverd I fjell was erected in 1983.The largest sword, more than 10 meters in height is said to be of King Harald Hårfagre who won a hands down battle against his opponents in 872, where as the smaller swords belong to the vanquished.

7. Merlion:

The nearly 8.6 meters high statue of half fish and half lion called Merlion , spouting water from mouth can be scary at times, especially when the eyes of the statue spout laser fire. The huge statue weighs 70 tons.  The scary open mouthed figure is the trademark and symbol of Singapore.

6. Buddha of Leshan:

The 233 feet tall giant statue of Buddha in Leshan is more impressive, though the sheer size and location can be quite intimidating. The massive construction was meant t to calm the turbulent waters of the river.  Indeed it succeeded by depositing the stone removed from the cliff in the river; making the water calm and safe. Another amazing fact of the statue is the drainage built into the statue, which is working perfectly and has prevented weathering of the monument.

5. Rodina Mat'Zovyot:

The 87 m tall statue of Rodina Mat'Zovyot, translating as Mother Motherland Calls at Mmayev Kurgan of Volgograd in Russia is the largest non-religious statue in the world. Built to commemorate the battle of Stalingrad, the gigantic figure of woman with sword raised in one hand, beckoning her children is one of the fiercest monuments of the world.

4.  The Child Eater of Bern:

Kindlifresserbrunnen statue of 16th century situated in Bern, Switzerland, if not intimidating has been sickening and revolting to many. Unlike many statues which overwhelm you with their sheer size, this statue strikes hard with the expression on the face of the children and gross act itself where you see an ogre or Cronus putting a naked child inside his mouth. There are more beneath his feet in a bag waiting to be devoured.

3. Statue of Lincoln:

The solitary figure of Lincoln situated in the Lincoln memorial is said to be very intimidating to people who look at the contemplating man. The 19 feet tall statue, equally wide, made out of white marble, is shrouded in mystery due to many messages it carries. The features and expression on the face of the great man has been crafted so well that it looks as though he is communicating with you. The aura surrounding the personality of Abraham Lincoln himself adds to overawing quality of the structure.

2. Sphinx Giza:

Looking down questioningly at the people and throwing around puzzles to be solved, the limestone statue of Sphinx of Giza has intimidated people for more than 5000 years now. With the body of lion and head of human; this is the largest monolithic monument and oldest statue of the world. It is still a mystery as to why it was built. The Egyptian Sphinx is unlike the Greek mythological sphinx, who was a woman, killing people who could not answer her riddles.

1.  The Moai of Easter Island:

Finally, the most intimidating are the 887 existing monumental statues, referred to as Moai found on the Easter Island. The remoteness of the island itself is quite scary, moreover, even the most intelligent minds cannot explain how or why the islanders put in such huge effort to build not just one but hundreds of these figures measuring 33 ft in height and weighing 80 tons. It must have been a great effort to transport them to where they belong. The unexplained mystery has led to believe that extra terrestrials may have been involved in building of these statues, which makes them so much more daunting to people who watch them staring into space.

Top 10 Developments In India Over The Last 10 Years

Posted: 25 Aug 2013 10:00 PM PDT

After around six decades of independence, India stands at number four in the list of world's largest economies. We have population of around 1.2 billion and soon, we are going to be the nation with the most number of young and technically sound work forces. Our country has grown to a global agricultural powerhouse, after being dependent on the other countries for grain import for so many years. Life expectancy and literacy rates in our country have doubled and quadrupled in the last few years. Let's have a look at the developments in India over the last 10 years. We will be having a look at all the major areas a country should excel in.

10. Rural Development:

Increased urbanization and changes in global production system have changed the complete scenario of rural areas. Developments in rural areas are majorly concerned with the proper utilization of land resources and imparting proper healthcare and education to the people of rural areas.

Major changes and developments in rural areas in the last few years are:

  • Rural education programmes have gained prominence in the past few years. Around 97% children of the ages 6-14 are enrolled in government and private schools.
  • Focus on increasing tourism in rural areas has been made by the tourism ministry. Tourism has also started pushing agriculture down on the list of main economic drivers of the country.
  • Development of small scale industries have made people independent and confident.
  • Various schemes have been launched to upgrade the living standards of people in rural areas. Some of them are: MGNREGA, DIKSHA, BHARAT NIRMAN, etc.

In the last 10 years, power sector in India has seen increased participation of private sector, both foreign and domestic.

'New' Electricity act, 2003 is a landmark document, first of its kind that revamps the regulatory framework governing the power sector.

The Eleventh Plan (2007-12) aimed at addition of 78000 MW of power and the Twelfth 5-year plan (2012-17) is even more ambitious, which aims at addition of over 100,000 MW of power.

There are various problems with the power generation and transmission in our country, which are as follows:

8. Military research and development:

Military research and development has not progressed as it was predicted by the observers and hoped by the leaders. The Prithvi battlefield is similar to that of the US Army Tactical Missile System (ATACMS), but it is less flexible. To be able to combat during emergency situations, it should integrate many more advanced features such as integrated surveillance.

The Agni missile is also a completely indigenous design. The Arjun tank was much hyped one, but many army personnel say that it doesn’t shoot straight!

India has set a budget of $ 100 billion for defence purchases for this decade. With this whooping amount, India has its sight set on modernizing military and jump-start its own defence industry.

Let's have a look at various deals:

  • $ 10 billion contract for 126 multi-role combat aircraft,
  • $ 7.6 billion contract for 12 stealth frigates,
  • $ 3.5 billion tender for 7 submarines,
  • $ 3 billion deal for 197 light helicopters.

Total expense on the advertising was just 1% in 2005 and it increased to 7% in 2012.

But tourism ministry is still not able to cope up with this whooping number. Tourism infrastructure in India remains underdeveloped. Meanwhile, "Incredible India" campaign is being maintained well by the tourism ministry.
