Watching a haunting scene on the big screen can send shivers down your spine and make you feel goose bumps over the skin. It's no surprise, you start sweating profusely even when you know you it's only an enactment. Such are the feelings that scary situations often elicit even from the brave hearts. Just imagine now, what if you land in one of these haunted places and that too alone? But, do such places exist in real? As the day dawns, supposed paranormal activities take centre stage within these historic structures. 7. Belcourt Castle, Rhode:

Belcourt Castle is located in Newport, Rhode Island. The structure is famous for its extravagant stable. In the year 1956, a new owner named Tinney Family bought the property. It is believed that his soul still roams the castle. The place sends chilly feeling up in the spine even in images.

6. Predjama Castle, Slovenia:

Architecture of its own kind, Predjama Castle is built within a cave. The origins of the castle date back to the 12^th century, but it was only in 1511 that it was rebuilt after it was destroyed in an earthquake. The castle got rebuilt again in the year 1567. The place shares about 700 years of violent history and hence, is regarded as extremely haunted.

5. Chillingham Castle, England:

Located in the northern part of England, the castle served as a fortress to repel attacks from the Scots. Chillingham Castle is known to have witnessed a lot of bloodshed during several battles. Interestingly, the castle found mention in at least 6 ghost-related shows. A childlike ghost known as the blue boy is regularly seen by visitors in the pink room as a flash of blue light in this medieval castle.

Lying beautifully within high peaks of Transylvania, the castle has many stories associated with it. 3. Witches Castle, Austria:

Moosham Castle or better known as Witches Castle is more famous for its disturbed past than the magnificent architecture it hosts. According to legend, thousands of women who were accused of possessing witch powers were tortured and killed in the castle. It's for the reason the place has become one of the most feared places in the world.

2. Leap Castle, Ireland:

Leap Castle is probably the most haunted castle in Ireland. Those who have entered it admit that it's the best place for ghost hunt. If you are interested in smelling dead souls, then this is the place for you. According to legend, two brothers, one was a warrior and other a priest, fought a bloody battle which lead to death of a priest in the Castle. The castle is therefore known by the name 'Bloody Chapel'.

No. 1 in the list of haunted castles, Edinburg Castle is situated atop volcanoes and finds its origin to the 12^th century. The castle has witnessed numerous bloody battles in the past. Deep down in the basement lie dungeons, which were used for torturing prisoners of war. Archeologists claim the castle to be in form since Iron Age. The structure may well be the longest continually occupied site in the history of Scotland and therefore, shares number of haunted stories.

Bollywood celebrities are notorious for committing one faux pas after another. I guess it’s because they get too famous too soon and their fame is really not dependent on their talent. Whatever be the reason, Indian celebs keep creating controversies. Some are better than others at doing stupid things in public. Let’s look at 7 Indian celebrities who did some unbelievable stupid things.

7. Mika:

I don’t know whether to put Mika at number 1 or number 7 on this list. He kissed Rakhi Sawant. That was pretty stupid. I mean not the fact that he did it forcefully and without her consent but just that he kissed someone who looks like Rakhi is really stupid! But since his stardom is no match to the others on this list he ends up at the bottom.

6. Sonam Kapoor:

Sonam Kapoor is a naturally talented actress but let’s be honest, she had success handed to her on a silver platter. This much success at such a young age has the side effect of arrogance as has been clear by her many comments about other actresses. She doesn’t hesitate to insult her seniors and she reached a height when she called Shobha De “a fossil who’s getting no action and going through menopause”.

5. Katrina Kaif:

Katrina Kaif visited the Khwaja Moinudeen Chishti’s shrine in Ajmer in a skirt in 2006. That was pretty stupid as she should have known that the tradition is to cover the whole body including the legs while visiting a shrine. I know she has great legs but she doesn’t have to show them off at a holy place! To her credit the next time she visited the shrine she wore a burkha.

Mr. perfectionist, Aamir Khan, hasn’t been without such moments either and thank god for that cause at least we now know that he is human. Whether it be the Jessica Hines and the illegitimate son controversy or calling his dog Shah Rukh, Aamir has done a few stupid things in his lifetime.

Shahrukh Khan is the king of controversies. He’s very clever and knows that to stay in the limelight he must come up with some way to create news. So every now and then we hear about something stupid that Shahrukh has done. Whether it be his fights with almost all the top stars in bollywood, or the sex determination scandal or something else, he knows how to stay in the news. The most stupid act has to be the fight with the guard at the MCA. He was drunk on ego the day his team, Kolkata Knight Riders, defeated Mumbai Indians. As a result he got himself banned from Wankhede stadium for life.

2. Salman Khan:

Salman Khan has been challenging Shahrukh Khan not just for the title of the king of bollywood but also for the king of controversies. In fact he beats Shahrukh khan quite badly when it comes to stupidity. There are so many controversies that this whole list could have contained only Salman Khan. Whether it was the Chinkara hunting incident or the hit and run that killed innocent poor people sleeping on the sidewalk, his stupidity has led him to commit some grievous crimes. The whole Aishwarya Rai situation was a low point in his life and let’s just say he didn’t handle it pretty well. Recently he was blamed for trying to bully some fishermen so that he could get a good view out of his balcony. I can assure you that we haven’t seen the last of such acts by Salman.

The only reason Salman is not on the top of this list is because Shiney Ahuja beat him in stupidity. He used to be a good actor and had a promising career ahead of him but he had to go and rape his maid. I mean come on man! Use your brains for once! There’s nothing more stupid than ruining one’s own career by raping a maid when you can pick and choose from so many hot bollywood actresses. Not only was it stupid but also an indictment of the condition of women in India.

Steve Jobs is considered the biggest inventor, entrepreneur and marketer of our times. 5. He fired people without any prior notice:

Steve Jobs was known to be arrogant and short tempered. One of the biggest drawbacks seen in his professional life was his uncanny habit of firing employees without notice. Once a Pixar employee pleaded that employees be given a week's notice – Jobs replied in an Okay and said "the notice is retroactive from two weeks ago".

4. He harassed people while interviewing them:

All of us have been through some grueling interviews, we understand that interviewers can be harsh and so we go prepared for the worse. But there was never a chance you could be prepared for a Jobs interview. Jobs once steamed onto a potential Apple employee if he was a virgin. Stammering the interviewer replied no and Jobs went higher in tone saying "You're still a virgin, You still think you are not." There are many such instances where potential employees have had hard time facing the Steve furry in the interview for Apple.

3. Million dollar man refused to do charity:

Big people make generous contributions to charities for two primary reasons, to become great in public eye and two to create awareness about causes they are contributing to. Steve Jobs was a man worth billions, but he kept himself away for philanthropy. He did not attach himself with any big donations. As Apple's CEO, Jobs put a hold on all charity donations. Then he said "wait until we are profitable", towards the end of his life, Apple was closing on being a billion dollar company but still no corporate philanthropy. Keeping way from charity and helping with all his dollars for a cause, maybe reasons to look down upon Jobs, but in real sense of things Jobs has been one of the biggest philanthropists of his time. He put in all his energy into creating immaculate products that have improved lives of millions around the globe.

2. Not a good family guy. Did not take care of his daughter for years:

Steve has had one of the most troubled childhoods possible, perhaps a reason he never thought he had to care for his child. Jobs didn't consider imparting paternity for a very long time to his first daughter Lisa. The condition was such that Lisa and her mother had to live on welfare for years. Jobs denied fatherhood so strongly, that he went onto swear in a court document that he was actually infertile and sterile, and was thus incapable of physically procreating a child. This was actually wrong, Jobs acknowledged and came close to his daughter. He then paid for his daughter's child support.

Jonathan Ive, Apple’s chief industrial designer and one among Jobs closest friends may have never outrightly spoken of Steve Jobs stealing his ideas, but he has gone on to inform that Jobs took undue credit for ideas of others – especially his own. Ive portrayed as artist with sensitive temperament in the biography of Jobs by Walter Isaacson, says he did get upset when Jobs went on to take credit for his (Ive) designs on grand stages and when people outside Apple considered Jobs as the Apple's sole idea man. In addition to some claims of stealing ideas, Jobs was criticized by many for patenting any and everything. Jobs on this went on to tell New York Times that after Apple was fined $100 million for creating the iPod he vowed to patent everything Apple invented.

Our society is very prejudiced towards single ladies. Even in developed countries women are thought to be the second fiddle to men. It is believed that every woman needs a man and any woman that doesn’t have a man must spend most of her time and energy in searching for one. That’s what all romcoms teach us. Not only is this being sexist, but it is also just stupid to hold such a view. Still most people, both men and women, believe that there is nothing worse than a single lady in her 30s. Due to this attitude single ladies face many problems like…..

7. Safety Issues:

No matter how developed your country, women are not safe on their own. It’s a shameful fact for the men of this world to accept but it also needs to be accepted by single women that they need to be extra careful about their safety. You can call me a sexist but it is true that this is a man’s world. Even married women aren’t completely safe but at least they have a man to protect them. Single women need to be extra careful and train in self defense and it is always helpful if their circle of friends have some trustworthy men.

6. Financial Issues:

This problem is not so much a sexist problem but one faced by single women and men the world over. The economy has been so rough that it is hard for single people to survive while couples find it easier as two people bring home a salary. If one of them gets fired the other can provide for the time being but a single person has nowhere to go if they get fired. This problem is faced by all single people and single women need to be aware of it too and prepare accordingly.

5. Prejudice at Work:

What can make the above problem even worse for women is that they still face prejudice at work. This prejudice is faced by all women but even more so by single women. Strong independent single women scare men and this shows up when the boss has to hand out promotions or decide who to let go. Married women are no better off here either but finally glass ceilings are shattering all over the world and slowly we are seeing things improve for women at the work place.

4. Men Hitting on You Constantly:

One annoying problem that single women face is that men will hit on you wherever you go. Whenever men see single women they take a chance at it. Older single women attract the wrong kind of men who think that since the woman is older and still single, she must not be looking for anything more than a one night stand. It’s hard for single women in their 30s to find a decent guy who won’t be scared off by their independence.

3. Parents Pressuring You to Get Married:

Single women have to face the relentless pressure of their parents, forcing them to get married. The older generation doesn’t understand how being a single woman is not such a bad thing. This is just an annoying problem and it is best to just ignore it.

2. The Ticking Clock:

One serious problem faced by single women is that their clock to have babies starts to run out as they get older. Most women do want children even if they don’t want to get married. This puts a pressure on the women to find a mate as soon as possible or let go of the dream to have kids. Of course there are other options such as sperm donation and adoption that many single women have taken up.

1. Spinster Witch or Cat Lady:

The worst problem is the way society looks at single women. Any woman who is into her 30s and is still single is looked at weirdly by everyone. Two stereotypical images come to mind; that of the spinster witch, manipulating people to find a mate or that of the cat lady with a hundred cats. So for your own sake, if you are a single woman, don’t get too many cats.
